Bienvenido a Liberty Church Washington Heights

A Collection of House Churches Living Sent

Every one of us is called to know Jesus and bring Him to the people in our lives, so that they have the opportunity to know Him and bring Him to the people in their lives.

What would NYC look like if every person was in relationship with a disciple and had the opportunity to know Jesus?

We Prayerfully Discern Who We Are Sent To

When we commit ourselves to prayer, we begin to see people the way God sees them. As we pray over the places in our lives, where we live, work, learn and play, we are moved to treat others with love and kindness.

We Engage In Intentional Relationships

As we discern who God is calling us to live sent to, we engaging intentionally in relationships. It brings God delight when we bless others, eat together, engaging in conversation & listen well.

We can see God in everyday life and display God in everyday life.

We Worship Together

We commit our time to following Jesus together, thriving in community, and making a difference in the world.

Our churches meet in home each week where we share testimonies of God's work in our lives. We sing, pray, study and discuss scripture.

We are empowered and equipped to live with intention in our lives as we make disciples who make disciples.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your heavenly Father.”

Meet The Community Pastors

Sierra & Pete Vasquez

Pete and Sierra have called Washington Heights home since 2016, immersing themselves in the richness of the barrio. Sierra grew up Jewish and Pete is a first-generation Hispanic American. Together they reflect the two dominant people groups in the Heights. “As a family, we are committed to pursuing unity in our diversity, to celebrate what makes us unique, and to model Jesus in every aspect of our lives.”

Having completed a three-year Ministry Residency with Liberty Church through Tim Keller’s City to City Organization, Pete and Sierra are eager to see revival in the Heights and NYC as they pursue their calling to equip and empower disciple-makers.

“The hope for house churches here in Washington Heights is that we would be disciples of Jesus who experience life transformation together, united as a beautifully diverse spiritual family, committed to teaching others to do the same.”
